Can I sanitize/disinfect my Chilewich products?⁣⁣⁠

Yes. For all woven products (except printed designs) and all tufted (Shag) mats: A 50:1 water/bleach solution left on the surface for at least one minute will thoroughly clean and disinfect the material. A stronger solution can be used if desired. ⁣For all printed, metallic, and pressed table mats (including Glow, Lace, and John Derian + Chilewich): Use hydrogen peroxide. ⁣⁣⁠

Is there a bleach-free way to sanitize / disinfect my Chilewich woven or tufted (Shag) products?⁣⁣⁠

Yes. Hydrogen peroxide may be used in place of bleach.⁣⁣⁠

Are Chilewich products antimicrobial?⁣⁣⁠

Yes. Antimicrobial protection (Microban) is built into all of our yarns at the polymer level. ⁣⁣⁠Microban technology gives Chilewich products an added level of protection against stain- and odor-causing bacteria, mold and mildew. Antimicrobial protection not only reduces the risk of premature product degradation but also makes our products easier to clean and keeps them cleaner and fresher between cleanings

I have had my Chilewich product for 10+ years. Is it still antimicrobial?⁣⁣⁠

Yes. Because it is integrated into the yarns and not applied as a surface finish, the antimicrobial protection works continuously for the lifetime of the product.⁣⁣⁠
